The Day I Fell In Love

I am having so much fun with this We Are Family Kit from Scraptastic Club!! I am scrapbooking more often and scrapbooking things I wouldn't normally scrap. As I've said before, this kit is all about family so here I go again with a layout about Chris and I. This is one of the last layouts I did with this kit so I was down to scraps. A lot of pinks and teals so I took this pic out of a broken frame and started scrapping.

We took this selfy on a day trip to the Oregon coast. Chris packed a picnic and we played on the beach with my dog Shilo. It was this trip that I realized I was falling in love with him. How could I not? Picnic on the beach and all.

I'm using things I would never use otherwise. I don't normally pick these colors but really love working with them. The flower pins are something I thought I wouldn't use but I used all 6 of them from this kit. If you've never purchased a kit before, check them out now. Such a fun way to scrap!!!

This!! is what it's all about!

This made my day when I saw my boys looking at my scrapbooks. It's because of them and for them that I do this amazing craft. Scrapbooking brings me so much joy and to see my boys enjoying it too means the world to me.

This layout came together haphazardly. I started it at night by cutting out the chevron. I put the papers down and the photos on top and went to bed. The next morning I liked the way it was positioned so I kept it that way. That's how the rest of the layout came together as well.

I began cutting out the cut aparts from the Scraptastic Club September We Are Family kit and tossed them on the page and really liked where they fell. All of Jessica's kits come with so many embellishment so I just kept tossing them on the page till I was satisfied.

Just love this cluster in the bottom corner. Those wood veneer hearts are amazing!

Canoe Ride

I just love these photos!! The boys had so much fun on the canoe. We never take it out anymore so this was a blast. Chris had been working 12 hour shifts 7 day's a week and this was his first day off in a month. He loves the outdoors so we packed up a picnic and heade to Clear Lake for the day.

I used a sketch form Scraptastic Club blog. I added more photos on the bottom cuz I couldn't pick just one. I haven't used sketches much but really enjoyed it this time. It was a great starting point for me.

This was supposed to be a picture frame but I didn't have one and really loved these strips so I lined them up and used the anchor sticker. I love the anchor trend and was so glad I had pics of us playing on the water so I could use them. I'm not good at using things if they don't go with my pics. I've seen it done and really like it, I just haven't made it work yet.

Bicycle Bowling

Here's another layout using my We Are Family kit form Scraptastic Club. This is a bit different than my usual style but I love it nonetheless. I went with more of a grid design for this one.

I had these 4 x 4 instagram photos and found a sketch form the Scraptastic blog that worked great for them. I switched things up a bit for it to work for me and really like how it turned out.

My sister Tammy made this game up for my boys and they had a blast playing it. With Colton's training wheels, the cones got caught under his bike each time an they thought that was so funny.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Stick Together

I think the main reason I love receiving Scraptastic Club's monthly kits is because it makes me scrap outside of my box. I receive papers in patterns and colors I would never buy otherwise. I mostly scrap my 2 boys so I never buy pinks or florals or anything remotely feminine.

The September We Are Family kit had a lot of pinks and hearts and things about love and togetherness and it made me want to do a layout about me and my hubby. I went around the house and grabbed the picture frames that had pics of us in them and looked for a picture from when we just started dating. I found this one of our 2nd valentines together and thought the rain spots in it would go great with the heats in the Maggie Holmes Open Air paper.

As you all know, I'm so inspired by Tracy Banks aka Mercy Tiara and just love how she often outlines her paper. I love how it make all the different papers pop out here.

Jessica always give a few die cut words or phrases in with the kits and here I misted the Stick Together one with Mister Huey's Over Due and love how it matches.

Lots of cut out embellishment and some flair. I just love layering it all in a cluster. These kits truly are a great way to stay creative.

Me & My Nieces

I had a blast with this layout! I made such a mess but we'll get to that in a bit. I have been wanting to do a layout about my nieces Dani & Tayler for awhile now and I'm so please at how this one came together.

I used my ampersand mask and misted over it with Heidi Swapp's Teal Colorshine. I uses paper from her No Limits and sugar Chic lines and just love how they matched so well.

I did this layout at my friend Kelly's house and we set up a table outside to do all our misting at. I was so jazzed about using the mist over the ampersand that I got a little ahead of myself with the Colorshine. I shook up the bottle then unscrewed it cuz I wanted some splatters on the page. I set the bottle down to put the ampersand in place then thought the bottle needed one more good shake forgetting I had unscrewed it. Yep you guessed it!! Colorshine all aver the place!!!

All over me, the table, the patio, but miraculously it all missed my layout. I was so glad and sad at the same time. Happy I didn't ruin my layout but so sad to have spilled a brand new bottle of Colorshine. It was in my hair, on my face, all over my hand and arm, and shirt and shorts. Ha ha ha ha... We laughed about that for hours that night!!!

Thanx for visiting my blog and sharing in my mishap with Colorshines

Heidi Swapp No Limits

It's Heidi Swapp time again!!

I got to spend some much needed time with my dear friend Kelly a bit ago and we scrapped all weekend. Oh the Joy!!! First thing we did when I showed up at her house on Friday was head to the local Michael's for some Heidi Swapp stuff. My local Michael's is a small one and never got the No Limits paper pad in so that was the first thing in my cart. I truly believe this paper line was made for me!!! I love all the colors and designs. There are many pages with cut out embellishments and journaling spots that are so fun to use.

The second thing in my cart was one of her stencils. I grabbed the 6 x 6 Confetti Stencil and used the stars in a diagonal line across the layout to help move your eye in the direction of the embellishments.

The delight flag was in my stash of all things Heidi. It's from her No Limits line as well.

Here's a close up of the title and journaling. I love the envelope with the journaling card in it.

This is by far my favorite Heidi Swapp project I've made so far. Not only cuz it's about my crazy kiddo Colton but also because I had so much fun making it.

Thanx for stopping by and go Make Pretty stufff!!!

E.Z. Orchards

Here's my 2nd layout using my We Are Family kit from Scraptastic.

I am so inspired by Tracy Banks aka Mercy Tiara (find her on youtube or her blog). She posted a video of a double page layout on youtube and I thought the design would be perfect for the pics of our trip to E.Z. Orchards.

I just love how many pictures that fit on this design. I haven't done a double page in a long time but I had a lot of pics for this fun trip so this worked great.
The embellishments in this kit are so fun and I used things I never thought I'd use like the flower pins. I think that's my favorite part of getting a monthly kit, I get things in the kits that I wouldn't buy otherwise and am pleasantly surprised when they make it on my layouts. It's really stretching my creativity and I love that.

Riding High

Got my September kit from Scraptastic Club awhile back and have been busy scrappin!! Here is the first layout I did.

This kit has so many great pages I really had a hard time cutting into any of them. I'm finding that is a struggle for me. Committing to an idea of a layout and cutting into the paper scares me because what if I need it a different size or want to use it somewhere else later. I need to just jump in and if I mess up, my LLS is only 5 min away and I can go get another piece of paper, really.
I used the My Mind's Eye Inspired Awed paper as my background. I just love the ombre look to it.

Here a close up of the top right corner. I used my hexagon punch on the Maggie Holmes Curio paper to cut out the hexagons.

Here's another shot of the hexagons and other embellishments. Flair from Ormolu. Wood Veneers from Studio Calico. This really is a fun kit to play with. I got the add on too so I have a bunch left!!

Come back soon to see more layouts from the We Are Family kit from Scraptastic Club!!

Story Time

Yet another layout using the Found A Boy kit from Scraptastic Club.

My 2 boys fight constantly so when Gus asked Colton if he could read him a story I dove for my camera.

I used the Bazzill Robin's Egg cardstock as my back ground and layered the Carta Bella Friends Forever paper behind my photos. Again I used the elements stickers from Echo Park Photo Freedom 2 all over the page. The title is with Jillibean Soup Blue Corn Navy Alphabeans. I just love how the Elle's Studio Cameron Photo Frames pull your eye to my favorite photo in the bunch. I added more of the Elle's Studio Cameron Cutouts here and there and the Ormolu flair too. I used some washi from my stash on the top and bottom and no layout is complete without enamel dots or the cork arrows form Fancy Pants Designs!!

I love scrapping with a kit. Everything matches so well which makes it so much more fun. I think I'll be getting the add on next month just to have more stuff to play with!!!

Thanx for visiting me!!!

Speed Racrers!

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE this Found A Boy kit from Scraptastic Club yet?!?!?! Well I do! This is my 2nd layout with this kit and I am having oh so much fun. I love the high quality paper and Jessica coordinates them so well, taking form a variety of different lines.

With this layout I used the Elle's Studio Cameron High Five paper for my back ground. I Just love all the little sayings on it. The orange arrow strips and the stars strips are the manufacturers strip at the bottom of the High Five paper and the Big Dot's paper. I love how they match the elements stickers from Echo Park Photo Freedom Volume 2 and the Elle's Studio Cutouts. I sprayed some wood veneer stars and added them along with some enamel dots for more embellishing.

Lots of fun embellishments on this page. I had so much fun adding and adding to it. I even added more after I took these pics :)

If you havent' yet, go check it the Scraptastic Club!! They are great!!!

Kissing Cousins

I finally did it!! I finally got a scrapbook kit. I've been wanting to for awhile now and have checked out a few different ones. I really liked the Scraptastic Club's kits so I purchased the August Found A Boy kit. It came so fast and I couldn't wait to start scrapping!!!

I love how they offer 2 different main kits and I'm not sure if it's like this every month but there was a boy one and a girl one. I obviously picked the boy one and it is just perfect for my summer pictures so far. I used the white cardstock that came in the kit. The chevron paper is from My Minds Eye Kate & co, the light blue paper is Studio Calico Nantucket, and the gorgeous tiny dots one is from Carta Bella Hello Again.

The alphas from the Echo park elements sticker page are so great. They are their Photo Freedom Volume 2 line. The colors of all the stickers match so great with all the paper in this kit.

Here's a close up of one of the fun embellishment clusters. That photo frame was perfect for the pic of my son smooching his cousin Tayler. He's such a ham!!! Check out the Ormolu flair!! LOVE!! And who hasn't fallen for the cork arrows from Fancy Pants Designs!!!

I'm not a fan of my own hand writing but the story must be told right?!?! I added some splatter with Mister Huey's Water Cooler and some enamel dots. And that arrow stamp is from Heidi Swapp.

Getting this kit was so exciting that I signed up for the subscraption. Now I'll get a kit evey month!! I love Scraptastic because you can skip any time you want and there is no cancelation fee. I dont' plan to cancel any time soon though cuz after your 12th kit, your 13th is FREE!!!

I have so much paper and embellishments left that I may be up all night scrapping!! Come back soon to see more layouts from the Scraptastic Club!!

New Do'ed

I finally did a layout for a challenge. My craft crush, Mercy Tiara aka Tracy Banks from Scraptastic Kit Club posted a challenge on the Scraptastic Kit Club blog on July 4th and I was dying to try it out. She challenged us to use Journalling strips on a layout. I did a layout about my son Gus' new haircut. I used the chalk board tape from Fancy Pants for my journalling along with a chalk pen.

The paper is from a Fancy Pants paper pad I got at the Craft Warehouse Tent Sale recently. I am in love with the Fancy Pants cork shapes lately.

Here's a close up of the journalling strips. I cut them in a couple different ways to add interest.

Here's a shot of the title and journalling.

Little detail in the bottom corner. I stamped the date and added an arrow and enamel dot. Love those little boogers!!

I am a huge fan of Mercy Tiara on youtube and have learned so much from watching her videos. She has posted challenges before but this is the first one I've tried. Wish me luck!! I might win a $20 gift card to Scraptastic!!!!
