4th of July Decorations

I hope you all had a great 4th of July!!! We had so much fun! We had family over and BBQ'd up some steaks. I made potato salad and My Joy made broccoli salad. I bought 10 ears of corn and totally forgot about them until we were all sitting down to eat. UGH! Of course everyone gave me flack about it cuz that's how we roll  :)  I made a peach cobbler and we hogged out!!! The kids did sparklers all day long and played hard.

My niece and nephew are here for a week and Dani and I made decorations that turned out so cute I had to share!!

We made this star garland using my Cricut and Gypsy. Then we used the score board to make them have some dimension.

Here we made big stars and glued them together then strung them up on our back porch.

I love making things!!! I hope your 4th of July was as much fun as ours!!!
Have a great day!!

Trying Something New!

Fun Times!!! Everyone went fishing for the day and I got some time to myself to scrap and try something new that I've always wanted to do.

I love Rahel Menig from Swiss Girl Designs and I've seen her paint on her layouts and loved it. I've wanted to try it for so long just didn't have the courage to do so, UNTIL now. I felt like it was time to SOAR!!! Here's how it turned out.

I used an acrylic paint I got at Craft Warehouse and painted a frame for where I planned to put the pictures down.

Here's a close up of the embellishments in the top left corner. I recently took a class at Studio Calico called Washi Workshop and that's where I got the idea to put washi tape down and lay the bird punch-out over top. I cut the clouds out of patterned paper and used foam dots to add depth.

Here's another close up. I distressed the edges of the paper framing the pictures. I used my Jenni Bowlin Scalloped Banner Squeeze Punch  by Fiskers for the cute banner and the Jenni Bowlin Tab Squeeze Punch. I used the Diamond Boarder Punch as well. As you can see, I love punches!!!

This layout was so much fun to do. I love trying new techniques especially when I'm happy with the outcome  :)

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
